All parts and services added to refurbished and upgraded consoles by Bitjump are backed by our 1-year parts and service warranty. Should anything we added to the console fail, you can send it back for repair at no cost to you.

Everything sold by bitjump is backed by our 90-day money-back guarantee. Should the console, games, or accessories fail within 90 days of the order shipment date, you can send it back for a free replacement or refund.
Warranty doesn't include failure due to using the system outside of normal operation or for attaching/using products that can harm your product. Shipping charges may apply.

What's the difference between "Refurbished" and "Upgraded" products at Bitjump?
What's the difference between "Refurbished" and "Upgraded" products at Bitjump?
At Bitjump, all of our products are refurbished, but not all of them are upgraded.
Refurbished to Bitjump, means that the consoles has been completely taken apart and cleaned. We use an ultra sonic cleaner to clean a variety of parts including consoles shells, motherboards, and other parts. We will also replace parts on consoles like capacitors, voltage regulators, lasers, or other parts that commonly determinate or fail overtime either due to the age of the console or other factors. This varies per console, but you can find details for what has been done in the refurbishment process for a console in the product page under the "Maintenance & Refurbishment Details" section.
A console is labeled "Upgraded" when it has some part added to it that provides some sort of enhancement. This includes, but is not limited to, video output upgrades (e.g. HDMI kits, RGB kits), chaging/adding regions (e.g. region switch, swapping region-free bios) replacing original drive with ODE, replacing stock fan with new fan, FRAM upgrades, and more. This varies per console, but you can find details for what has been done in the upgrade process for a console in the product page under the "Upgrade Details" section.

We realize that the prices for some of our products are comparable to some modern consoles. There are two factors that contribute to the higher prices of upgraded consoles: prices of parts, and cost of labor.
The parts we use for our upgraded consoles are most often made by small teams of dedicated and knowlegable creators in the retro gaming community. They've spent many hours researching and developing these upgrades and don't have large teams assisting them in their development. Because of this, many of the kits are pricy, with HDMI kits ranging from $80 - $200. In some instances there are parties who have copied and sell these kits and projects for a significantly cheaper price, but they've also stolen from those creators and we will not support them.
On top of the cost of parts, the skills necessary to install these kits can be very technical. While these creators sell their kits for anyone to buy, the expectation is that you would then send your kit and console to an experienced installed. From our research, depending on the kit, the installer you choose, and complexity of the installation, you'll generally be expected to pay $80 to 130 for the labor to install those kits.
With all this in mind, we continue to try and find ways where possible to reduce the cost for our customers. We have a coupon for first-time buyers when they subscribe to our email newsletter, and will continue to push sales and offers to our customers.

There are a lot of challenges with running a retro game store, but one of the hardest is consistently finding inventory, and knowing what items to get that our customers want.
If there's something you're interested in buying but you don't see it on Bitjump, please send a message to contact@bitjumpgaming.com with your request. You may get lucky as sometimes we have stock that hasn't been listed yet (still needs cleaning/testing/upgrading/etc. or some other reason), but even if we don't have that in-stock, knowing what people are looking for will help us know what to look out for more.

Do You Replace the Batteries in the Games you Sell?
Yes. Every game that uses a small coin battery in order to save a game (common in SNES, NES, and some N64 games) is replaced with a fresh battery. Not NOTE: All NES and SNES games that have save functionality do require a coin battery, but some N64 games utilize FRAM, instead of SRAM, which does not need a save battery so nothing needs to be replaced for those.

Explain the process for getting a console serviced.
After reviewing available services and pricing for the consoles you're interested in getting services (head to our Upgrades and Installation Services page to learn more), send an email to upgrades@bitjumpgaming.com with information on what consoles you'd like to have services, what work you'd like to have done, along with any other additional questions you have. We can discuss over email or we are willing to set up a phone call or conference call to walk through any questions you have, if needed.
Once we've nailed down services and confirmed pricing, it's time to send your console! To keep the package weight and size down, you will only need to send it what's required. Things like games, AV cables, or power cords (unless you're getting capacitors replaced) will not be required as we have those items on hand. If we don't happen to have the correct power supply needed, we will request you include that.
Once the console is received, we'll confirm it's arrival and provide an tentative date or time frame on when the services will be complete. If all parts are already on hand when the console arrives, we will usually get to your order in about 2-3 business days. If we are still waiting on parts (sometimes we are unable to order parts until the console arrives because), we will provide an estimate based on when those parts will arrive.
Once all services have been completed, your items are confirmed tested and working, we will send a final invoice to you where you can pay for the services performed as well as return shipping.
From start to finish, the process can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks, mostly depending on how quickly the product get to us and back to you, and availability of parts.
Do I need to pay up front for upgrade and installation services?

No. We do not require payment until all services have been completed and your item with the upgrades/repairs have been confirmed working. At that point, we'll send you a final invoice where you can pay for the services and return shipping.
Note that you will have to pay to ship the console to Bitjump. Bitjump does not cover any of the cost of shipping for installation services to and from our store.

Yes. The same 1-Year Parts & Service Warranty that we provide with all our upgraded consoles also applies to consoles we work on and add anything to. Should anything we added to the console fail, you can send it back for repair at no cost to you.

We completely get it, we change our minds too! If you no longer want your item and you haven't yet received a shipping notification, we're happy to process the return. Send an email to returns@bitjumpgaming.com with your order number in the subject.
Once an item has shipped, however, we are unable to alter or cancel it. After receiving your item and you don't want to keep it, you can request a refund within 30 days of the shipment date.

Items must be returned within 30 days after the order is shipped. Items must be returned in the same condition in which they were received, be unworn/unused, have any tags still attached, and include all the original packaging.
We do offer 1-year parts and service warranty, as well as a 90-Day Money-Back Guarantee. Please refer to the warranty details for information on returns and exchanges for items in your order that fall in either of those.
